The night I met Drew Jagger, he’d just broken into my new Park Avenue office. I dialed 9-1-1 before proceeding to attack him with my fancy new Krav Maga skills. He quickly restrained me, then chuckled, finding my attempted assault amusing.

Of course, my intruder had to be arrogant.  Only, turned out, he wasn’t an intruder at all.

Drew was the rightful occupant of my new office. He’d been on vacation while his posh space was renovated. Which was how a scammer got away with leasing me office space that wasn’t really available for rent. I was swindled out of ten grand.

The next day, after hours at the police station, Drew took pity on me and made me an offer I couldn’t refuse. In exchange for answering his phones while his secretary was out, he’d let me stay until I found a new place. I probably should have acted grateful and kept my mouth shut when I overheard the advice he was spewing to his clients. But I couldn’t help giving him a piece of my mind.
I never expected my body to react every time we argued. Especially when that was all we seemed to be able to do.

The two of us were complete opposites. Drew was a bitter, angry, gorgeous-as-all-hell, destroyer of relationships. And my job was to help people save their marriages. The only thing the two of us had in common was the space we were sharing.  And an attraction that was getting harder to deny by the day.

five-starsAdd to Goodreads

Vi Keeland smashed this one out of park. I immediately dismissed this book when I saw the title but don’t make the mistake I did. This book was such a great read. The person who titled this book did it a great disservice. I mean, epic fail. I don’t know if it was an attempt to get attention and sell books but Drew Jagger was absolutely not an egomaniac. I looked up the definition and Egomaniac is “a person obsessed with their own importance.”
I don’t believe heroine Emerie Rose fit that bill either. This book was actually the opposite of that title. I think the two main characters didn’t take themselves that seriously, and that was part of the book’s charm.

This story is not one of those billionaire romances. Its a story about common sense versus book smarts, personal growth and learning to open one’s eyes and heart. I really really enjoyed it. I am mega impressed with the writing. The comedic timing, the emotional touches, even Emerie’s naivete was touching. I loved the contrast between the more celebral and mild mannered therapist from Oklahoma and the playful, yet hard working New York attorney. The tone of the story was humorous, sweet and touching in parts. It was completely delightful. The author did a great job building the characters and making them relatable. Drew can be both a jerk and a sweetheart. Emerie was both clueless and yet perceptive. The character perfection lies in their flaws. They make you want to shake sense into them, laugh with them and give them comforting hugs.

What a fun audiobook. Joe Arden and Andi Arndt were awesome narrators. I found them so believable and I enjoyed every minute of this story. They really projected the chemistry and camaraderie between the characters. I couldn’t help but be sucked into Emerie and Drew’s banter. From the funny dialogue, to the sharing past pains and the building of solid relationship, I was all in this story. I have read The Baller by this same author and didn’t enjoy it half as much as this one. This is a book that will be on my re-read shelf for when I need a pick me up when I hit a reading funk. I will definitely be checking out more of Vi Keeland’s work.

If you want an entertaining romance that balances humor, chemistry and personal growth, this is the book for you.

A new person will enter your life in the early year, Leo. Look past any moments of frustration they might bring and laugh—this could be the start of a thriving friendship.

Theo Wallace usually laughs at the horoscopes his mom sends. Still hung up on his ex-girlfriend and practically friendless, this one begs him to reconsider. Because a friendship that stuck, that thrived…

Well, that would be a reason to leave past pains behind and look to the Bright Future.

When his sister Leone challenges him to find her the perfect date for a spring wedding, Theo uses it as a chance to make new friends. Theo’s ex economics tutor and newest roommate Mr Jamie Cooper seems to be a possible and convenient match. Real convenient. Like written in the stars, convenient.

All he has to do is make sure this Jamie is good enough. Could really be the one for her, and the friend for him.

But watch out, Leo, the stars have a surprise in store…

four-half-stars

This is the best reaction to 67%. I do not like angst of any kind, and this just took to long to happen, but when it did it was freaking magical.

Brace yourself ladies and gents, this is my first Anyta Sunday book. **Duck & covers**, I know. I honestly do not know how this happened.

Leo Loves Aries was such a witty, romantic, feel good story. I really enjoyed the easiness of the reading style. Everything was well written and flowed perfectly. Yes, it didn’t happen 13% in the book like I wanted to. Talk about Chemistry!!! I’ve started signing things like #CancerlovesPisces. These guys were super relatable. I honestly think Theo was the blind one here, he couldn’t see what was directly in front of his eyes, but when he did…. Boy, he went right in and went full throttle. It was no playing around for him. I am so in love with Jamie. Gosh my husband is the SHIT, but a Jamie is a needed necessity for 2017. He’s the type of guy who just wants to see you succeed, be happy and healthy. What more can you ask for?

This book made me happy. I love the little illustrations and factoids at the beginning of each chapter. I adore the parents alot. It shows what good parenting and upbringing produces. These were so responsible young adults. I love the relationship that each had with their counterpart. I adore Leone parts as well. Loved that her disability didn’t stop her from doing anything. She’s such an inspiration, and dare I say I would be interested in a Leone & Sam novel some day.

Gotta say, after reading this; the next day I went and read my horoscope and it said 2018 was my year. I got super excited. I use to be a big horoscope reader in my early twenties, I’ve gradually stopped, but I think I might go back to reading them. I do agree about compatibility when it comes to zodiac signs. I was involved with an Aries and we didn’t work out at all, but the Pisces and Cancer go together like fat girls and chocolate cake. Speaking from experience now folks. LOL. I am rambling, because I can go on, and on about how awesome they both are, but you read it! You don’t get to live vicariously through my fangirling, just know it made my Best of 2016 list and will leave you smitten and happy. I want to leave you with this quote because it means so much to me, it’s a line I used in my wedding vows, and to hear you say it to someone special means the world to them. It’s endearing and all encompassing when it comes to love.

Theo:You are not the best part of my day, you make my day.

You are cordially invited to Christmas at Millworth Manor. . .

Camille, Lady Lydingham, requests the pleasure of your company at a festive house party, as she endeavors to coax a marriage proposal from Prince Nikolai Pruzinsky of Greater Avalonia.

The hostess's relatives will be in attendance--in this case, a troupe of actors hired to impersonate a proper English family in order to fool the Prince.

Gate-crashing, distractingly handsome first loves like Grayson Elliott are most unwelcome.

Games will be played.

Motives will be revealed.

Mayhem may ensue.

And hearts will be won--and lost--in the most romantic, magical season of all.

Please RSVP!

This was a very amusing Christmas story. It was just what I needed like a hot cup of chocolate on a cold winter night.

Camille, Lady Lydingham, wanted the fairy tale life so when she met a prince who was travelling. Camille put a plan into motion designed to charm Prince Nikolai Pruzinksy of Greater Avalonia into proposing to her and making her a princess.

The problem was that she didn’t feel that her family was the “right sort” to endear the prince to her, as they were quite eccentric. So Camille decided to hire a troupe of actors to portray a proper and respectable English family. While Camille and her married twin sister Beryl, Lady Dunwell, put their scheme into motion, Camille’s first love Grayson Elliot came by.

Grayson had decided that Camille was the one that got a way and he came to woo her back. Unfortunately he walks into this grand spectacle of a Christmas holiday with Camille’s faux family. Both Prince Nikolas and Grayson wanted to prove they were the right suitor. Her twin sister just wants her to be happy. The rest is just comedic genius.

I wasn’t expecting to enjoy this story so much but it was funny. Camille was very likable even though she was a bit of a dreamer. I give her a A for the trying in earnest to pull of a ruse of this magnitude. It required nerves of steel and sheer willpower to remain committed when parts of her story were falling part. Camille and her sister improvised so well, I almost expected them to decide to go into the theater afterwards.

I liked the drama because it felt like watching a live play with the blunders, bloopers and improvisation. The romance was also sweet and heart felt. I was pleased with how the love story was resolved. The audiobook narrator did an awesome job with various voices. I was never bored in this story. If you want an entertaining Christmas story and a second chance romance, I highly recommend this one.

Creatures of the Night and Santa’s Christmas duties don’t mix. Every myth and bedtime story tells you so.

But on Christmas Eve, when the Elves walked off the job over pension rights, it was time for me—Irwin, the only vampire on Santa’s payroll, despite recent diversity initiatives—and my trusty team to help out. Just deliver a few parcels, Santa asked me. Just help out on your local patch. Just for one night.

Armed with my reluctance to face all that human sentimentality, and accompanied by a wise-cracking werewolf and an unruly fairy with a taste for vodka, I did my best. Honest.
But we were heading for disaster until I came face-to-face with cute babysitter Benny. It’s Santa’s Number One Rule—no interaction with the clients. But Benny somehow managed to upset my appetite, inflame my libido, and restore my faith in the Christmas spirit, with one cheeky smile and a tasty body piercing.

It’s Christmas, and the show must go on!

three-stars

Bite Night was a hilarious creative read for me. I really enjoyed this short story. I love the paranormal/fantasy aspect of this holiday story. I’m really liking Clare London’s writing, this is my 3rd book by her. It was a little over the place, but I liked this chaotic mess. Irwin is the only vampire in Santa’s arsenal who can help him deliver presents. He’s very direct when we first meet him, but the first meeting with Benny has Irwin thinking twice about following direction. I love the little group that was with Irwin. Wulf & Zilth were amazing. This is definitely something I could see myself reading full length. I really enjoyed this different take on a Holiday stories!!!!

Karl Kringle hates the modern-day Christmas. He was born to be Krampus, but the Holiday Council refuses to let him help his brother Nick—aka Santa Claus—with the Naughty List until he finds his holiday spirit. To meet that challenge, he’s turned human and dumped in a strange apartment.

Lewis Weatherby loves the holidays and always has. Not only do his parents own a pumpkin patch and tree farm, he’s also inherited a Christmas-themed shop. All he wants from Santa is the man of his dreams, and the Big Guy might’ve just delivered. Lewis’s new neighbor Karl is gorgeous, sweet, and has a fantastic sense of humor—if his jokes about being Krampus are any indication.

Soon getting home is less important to Karl than what will happen when Lewis inevitably realizes the truth behind his jokes. He’s finally starting to understand the real joy of the season—now he just has to figure out how to hold on to it.

four-stars

Krampus was AMAZEBALLS!!!!

Definitely a top contender in my 2016 favorite Holiday Reads!

This was my first book by Andi Van, and I loved there quirky sense of humor, and writing. Krampus is a different take on the holiday romance aspect. He’s the twin to Saint Nick, opposite in every way, shape, size and form. In in my mind Krampus original form is a Minotaur. I couldn’t get that image out my mind. LOL. I found myself laughing at the antics of these characters, having the best cheese smile on my face, and tearing up at the end.

Krampus just wants to help his brother with Christmas, but the council decides he’s not ready and doesn’t have the right spirit for it. Noel (Santa’s Husband) decides to step in and help his brother in law out. He sends Krampus to California, to stay in a nice apartment and find his holiday cheer. He’s given an illusion to look like an attractive tall guy named Karl, and staying next door to sweet Lewis who owns a holiday shop.

I really liked Lewis, and adored his best friend Jerry. Lewis is smidge overweight in his 40’s and doesn’t feel so great about himself. Putting these two together just seemed right. They were super compatible from the first meeting. I liked how open they were with each other,( within reason on Karl’s side). I loved how Karl was to willing to do new things, but stay true to himself. I think their journey was really adorable and sweet. I loved NOEL!!! I wanted more parts with him and Nick. Andi Van if you do read this, please consider giving us another holiday treat with these two! I liked Lewis’s family alot. I think they were great and very accepting of Karl and his family history when everything came to the light.

This was super fun to read! Highly recommend it, and can’t stop smiling thinking about it!

But how long can Aidan’s conscience cope as confusion abounds? Will coming clean as “the other twin” destroy the trust they’ve built?

four-half-stars

**ZOMG** This is my gush face!

I loved every second of this sugary fluff. Loved the age-gap, the fieriness, fluff, and the British Boys.

I’m almost certain that this is my first Clare London book, I will definitely be reading more from her. This Dreamspun Desires series seems to be going one of two ways for me. Either I dislike them or love them. Ha, this is a good one. I do okay with fake relationship aspect. I think the author did a fabulous job on making the twins as nigh and day as she could. I mean they were two completely different people but I loved Zeb & Aidan as equally good. Maybe Aidan a little bit more since he brought out this side of Dominic that no one wasn’t able to see. I love the dry humor in this story. I also like that they both had two difference of opinions a lot of times. For all of Dominic’s abrasiveness he surely opened up and fell in love unapologetically with Aidan. Even Aidan becoming his brother who is famous and completely different then Aidan was a prize to see. I loved Aidan’s vulnerability at times, and loved how when the same feelings were reciprocated within Dominic he did everything he could to pick Dominic’s spirit up.

Dominic!! You big grouchy bear. He’s a commitmentphobe who lives life on the edge or on adrenaline. Dominic is a man of few words, and with the look of my favorite face. The RBF (Resting Bitch Face)!! He is a mountaineer and he won’t be anything else. It’s his passion and every man in his family is the same. He comes from a legacy of excellence where he wants to follow in his father’s footsteps. Only one teeny tiny problem. His ass is broke. No money for excursions, so he sucks it up and tries to get sponsors. HA!!!! I loved his initial reaction to having a sponsor. I loved the relationship he has between his self and his PA’s. He literally seemed like the Grinch most of the book. Here’s where the author excelled for me. I like that he has these feelings and recognized what they were. He didn’t immediately push Aidan away for fear of rejection. Sure he never talked about it, but I think for H-G just being able to converse with someone else was enough for him to fall in love. That’s the message I atleast got from it. I don’t think he was so hung up on Aidan’s looks more as being able to be himself with Aidan.

Aidan was great as well. Talk about taking the bull by the horns and going for it. When Zeb brought him this proposition sure he was scared but the excelled at the subterfuge of it all. I can see where he was falling for H-G and having the hardship of lying to him as well. Yes, he lied about who he was. You get that in the blurb, it shouldn’t be a surprised. I really enjoyed seeing him with his friends. Titus is the best ever!! He had my favorite line out the entire story. I loved seeing them together. I’m a huge sucker for age-gap and this one worked perfectly to me. I wouldn’t mind seeing these two in the future or revisiting this world some time.

This is a high recommend for me. It was just a good reading day I presume. It’s low-angst, heavy on the attraction, witty, and really good. I definitely enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more by this author!

It’s always a joy reading about these group of characters. I really like the anthology idea and to read about certain events that have happened over the course of the series. Of course it wouldn’t be me without Sloan and Ethan. Those are my favorite two, and I didn’t get enough Ethan. I honestly think she can write more and I’d never this it was enough of these two.

I would like more Tony though. I always want to see that relationship between him and his sons grow. This is no different then the first anthology we got to see some smut, some hilarious hi-jinks, some sweet Ethan moments and the rest of cast and crew. Some of these were really good! I did like seeing them all together harmoniously. I’m at a lost once again how to review this. I don’t want to spoil it by naming my favorite prompts, but I do think it’s a little bit of everything in here for many of our favorite couples.

As always I’m looking forward to more in this series. I am team Sloane all the way, but I would really appreciate if him and Dex took a major backseat in the next couple of books. I feel like they’ve been the focal point so long that even when it’s not their books they continue to steal other couples thunder. (**cough Ethan & Calvin cough**) I do recommend this to all Thirds fans. I think it’s always good to see what our favorite shifters & humans are up to while we are away!

What happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas.

Cody Hayes is having one epic morning-after. The hangover following a Vegas bachelor party is nothing new to him, and neither is the naked man in his bed.

His apparent marriage is a different story.

Carefully plotting every detail of his life carried Julian Canales to a Senate seat as an openly gay man. A drunken night of Truth or Dare isn’t like him… and neither is marrying a man he just met. He’d get an annulment, but the media has gotten wind of his hasty nuptials. If Julian’s political career is going to survive, he has to stay married to a man who’s his opposite in every way.

Now he must convince Cody that all they need to do is survive a conservative political rival, a heartbroken ex, their painful pasts… and an attraction neither man can fight.

Aww, this was like ooey gooey sugary sweetness!! I gobbled up every stinking minute of it!

I think I’m slowly but surely getting sucked into these Dreamspun Desires series. A few have been creamy crack fluff for me. But that’s the way they should be, and others have been meh. This was really good from beginning to end. I enjoyed Jacob Z. Flores writing. I loved Cody & Julian a lot. I think they meshed well together and I found myself snickering and laughing out loud a couple of times. I needed these feelings, I am coming off some morose reads lately and this sweetness dump is just what the doctor ordered.

“I think Bruce has suffered enough torment for today.”
“No, not that. I was talking about — wait. Bruce Boner? That’s really what you call it?”
“Only when he’s sleeping,” he whispered. “But when he’s awake, he grows four times his size and becomes the Incredible Bulk.”

I love the notion behind drunk people getting married in Vegas. It’s an American past time folks. This is the second good story I’ve read about it, the first being Leta Blake’s Will & Patrick: Wake up Married, if you haven’t read it get on it folks. I like how Flores started on the initial aftermath of said notion and started from the beginning. Cody is a joyous character. I like that he seemed so free, open, and kind. I like that he had a sense of humor, and really was a bit of sunshine in this situation. I bet Julian didn’t think of this happening while on the job. Throw in the added bonus of him being a Senator and we got problems Houston. I loved that Cody got Julian to open up. Julian was like two different people in this book. He was always on, and being with Cody made him this special person again and not the robot that the world sees.

I laughed a lot, and that’s something I enjoy when reading. Flores did a good job with this book, and it makes me want to go back and read One Fine Day #1!! I loved that movie, so incorporating that into a series title was such a good idea. I could totally see something like this happening any day. If you are looking for a steamy, fluffy book with humorous intents, and smexy times then I recommend this. Looking forward to more from this series and author!

About Jacob Z. Flores

Jacob Z. Flores lives a double life. During the day, he is a respected college English professor and mid-level administrator. At night and during his summer vacation, he loosens the tie and tosses aside the trendy sports coat to write man on man fiction, where the hard ass assessor of freshmen level composition turns his attention to the firm posteriors and other rigid appendages of the characters in his fictional world.

Summers in Provincetown, Massachusetts, provide Jacob with inspiration for his fiction. The abundance of barely clothed man flesh and daily debauchery stimulates his personal muse. When he isn’t stroking the keyboard, Jacob spends time with his daughter. They both represent a bright blue blip in an otherwise predominantly red swath in south Texas.

It was a devastating dirty trick—Joey Silvia just found out her boyfriend of two years is married. What. A. Dick. Joey knows her best chance to get over one guy is to get under another. Holy crap, Chris Steffensen. When did her brother’s best friend turn into a hard-bodied pile of blond-bearded hotness? He’s the perfect Halloween treat—and a surprisingly dirty rebound guy. For a couple of weeks, anyway. Except that Chris has other ideas…like proving to Joey that this blast from the past is a whole lot more than a naughty Halloween hookup.

“I never once cheated on my wife. Ask her. It’s not cheating. But what you did–” “I didn’t cheat on you darling,” she said with a saccharine smile.”Didn’t you know? You and I were in an open relationship. I just didn’t tell you.” “Oh, very funny. Hilarious.”

Dude, I’m in shock at how much I enjoyed this book. I would never have read a Harlequin novel if it wasn’t for Tiffany Reisz. That’s how much I enjoy her work. It was smutty, funny, and a super cute read. I loved all the 80’s references and this book gave me the perfect Halloween costume choice! I loved the writing and the feeling of the story. Her Halloween Treat is the first book of this Holiday Trilogy from the queen Tiffany Reisz. She can’t write a bad character in my opinion. I might not love all of them, but I damn sure enjoy them. I enjoyed Chris a lot. He was super confident and cocky. Two things I see to be enjoying in a man. I fell in love with Joey!!! She was freaking amazing. She writes some strong and resilient woman. I love that so much about Reisz.

Even when the going got tough for Joey, she stood her ground and dictated her own life. Coming off a bad break – up Joey goes home to Oregon to recuperate and attend her big bro’s wedding. It happens to be on her birthday but she doesn’t care. She’s feeling broken down after being with a man for two years and him lying to her. I liked Joey spontaneity, and her reproach to life. She was super resilient when I would have still been in the anger and busting up his shit phase of things. Who better for her to bounce back with then Chris. Crush Chris, her brother’s best friend Chris. Chris with the wallet chain. Not attractive at all once it is said, but once she sees the sexy lumberjack then it’s over. The chemistry between the two was explosive. There were moments when I had to set the book down from the level of smutty goodness in this story. Every time they were on page together, it just worked.

I loved the humor of the story, and the realistic feeling it had to it. Sure Joey was dealing with heartbreak, but she found something in the midst of all this pain. She found someone she can be honest and open with. She basically found her other half. They both weren’t looking for love, but it slapped them hard in the face. Can, I say that I was totally gagging when Ben showed up. Never doubt my loves, Reisz gave Joey that BEST PART ever. She gave me life. I was literally gagging over her. It’s word for word what I would have done. Nothing different. The exact damn way.

Bish, I’m dead.

All in all I think this was a good book. Sure, some of the sex scenes were overwhelming, but that’s my only complaint. I can’t wait for more of this series. Hell at this point, I’d read a damn manual if she wrote it. I love her work. Always consistent and equally entertaining. Highly recommend this holiday gem.

Rory McGrath suffers from a debilitating condition—he caught it from reading too many books. Rory believes in true love. He’s saving himself until he finds it, preferably with Mr Darcy, but definitely not with the arrogant, unpleasant ape Adam Sandstone. Adam isn’t impressed with Rory either. Both Rory and Adam have yet to learn, however, that you cannot always judge a book by its cover. The nine other members of the new club could have told them this, had they been consulted. The founders of the Buckland-in-the-Vale and Sandstone Tor Gay Book Club know only too well that not all truths are written in books. Truth, like life, is what you make of it.

I’m not sure what more can John Wiltshire do. I’ve been dreading this review for a few days. Before this book was written, I was super desperate to see if Wiltshire can write a pure contemporary romance without any of the exceeding reality situation from the More than Heat the Sun Series. He did write a humorous, contemporary romance. Why the head bang? Because I wasn’t satisfied. I like how in my mind he’s writing for me. I’m not happy, and he’s probably thinking like what more do they want? He did enough, but it just wasn’t enough for me. Clearly, I have some sort of complex, and I promise you I don’t but I had huge expectations for this book. The only thing that saved me from DNF this book was Rory!!! I loved Rory. I liked the old lady gang in the beginning, but them heifers had to much page space for me. Adam is

That’s exactly how I felt. He was such a douche-face! ARGH!!! It was super teeth pulling for me to like him. He was an asshole, the biggest prat ever, and super self-absorbed. I literally kept picturing myself kicking in him the nads over and over. It was slim pickings for Rory, so the only available gay guy had to be this dude. I swear, if it wasn’t for his good looks then I’d want Rory to be a monk forever. Just let it go, or move away. I won’t give the plot away. I love the initial meeting in what both guys thought this was a gay hookup instead of an actual book club. I loved the premise of it as well. Definitely a feel good story, and I can see people fawning over it. Wiltshire humor and writing is super spot on. I found myself intrigued with the story right off the back. It was a bit of angst, but I definitely appreciated it. It leaves off with a HFN with the strong possibility of a HEA. It could go two ways, but we’ll see if a sequel is written.
