My Year In Books!!

This has been a year of new discoveries for me. I started out the year by reading The Hunger Games trilogy and the Fifty Shades trilogy. I soon found myself in a book drought and boy is that a horrible place for me to be. That’s when the Anita Blake series was recommended to me and that’s when it hit me, “Why have I never read a book about stuff that I enjoy watching?” My world has constantly been in an uproar of novels since. I have found myself reading books that I wouldn’t even know existed if it wasn’t for my cousin and my friends at GoodReads (thanks Kick ladies). As I write this I’m thinking of everyone that hasn’t thought outside of their “book box” and I want you to look at my favorite picks from the year and try them because we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover or a story by genre.

A hidden fire started off as a challenge read for me. I picked up this book and was enthralled with the characters and the story.  It was something that I have never seen done before. The premise of the book was awesome and it got better with every single page. The series only enhanced what was already a great start. I kept wondering how can she make this any better but she did and it was amazing.

This was by far one of my favorite series’ it was my first series that included fairies and had a heroine that didn’t care was no one said about her. This was a series that got better with each book. It had all of the necessary components that make a series great. A kick-ass heroine, sexy men, and a story that blew me away

This was my favorite series of the year. This is a breakout series by Lauren Stewart and it’s a modern take on a classic tale. It has everything a series could offer and it was so great that I couldn’t put it down. I found myself staying up til 4am just to finish not caring what I had to do just to get to the end. This was a well written story that has a perfect balance of what makes a book go down in history and when people ask me what a good book is this is always on my list.

The Charley Davidson series by Darynda Jones is a series that will have you laughing, crying, and sitting on the edge of your seat trying to figure out what will happen next. It was something that I have never read before and I didn’t know what to expect and it’s safe to say that I was blown away.

The Hunger Games was my first YA book and I went into this book with an open mind and wasn’t let down. It was a great read and I found this to be an excellent read and an excellent way for parents to get there children to pick up a book. It has the perfect balance of suspense and romance and it isn’t too old or too young.

On Dublin Street  was an emotionally charged read that left me breathless. It was a book that I wouldn’t mind reading over and over again.

Wallbanger was a light and funny read that was very appealing and with a group characters that rival those in Sex and the City.

Running Scared  is the 3rd book in a series and so far it is my favorite. Emotionally charged and suspenseful is all I can say.

Intertwined is different than anything that I have ever read in the PNR genre. I think YA and Adults will enjoy it the same.

Club Shadowlands is erotica at it’s finest where the story doesn’t take a back seat to the sex.

HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
