Lead me not into temptation.Follow me instead! I know a shortcut!--T-shirtTwelve. Twelve of the deadliest beasts ever forged in the fires of hell have escaped onto our plane, and they want nothing more than to rip out Charley Davidson’s jugular and serve her body to Satan for dinner. So there’s that. But Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and as she retraces his last steps she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she’s ever known about him. Add to that an ex-BFF who is haunting her night and day, a rash of suicides that has authorities baffled, and a drop-dead sexy fiancé who has attracted the attentions of a local celebrity, and Charley is not having the best week of her life. But all of that barely scratches the surface of her problems. Recent developments have forced her to become a responsible adult.  To conquer such a monumental task, she’s decided to start small. Really small. She gets a pet. But how can she save the world against the forces of evil when she can’t even keep a goldfish alive?A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to protect it. We’re doomed.
five-stars

All I can say about this book is WOW!!! The more books that I read in this series the harder the reviews get to write because at this point in the relationship I am now considered a fangirl and anything that I say will just ooze my excitement over the series. Darynda Jones can write the yellow pages and I will pick it up and read it because she is just that talented.

Charley is still her witty I want to save the world self despite her current situation. That is one of the things that I love about her she will put herself in danger for those that she love or feel like she can help. Reyes is still dark brooding and his over protective self. Cookie is amazing as always.

The plot in this book was amazing. I knew from the first chapter that this was going to be one heart pounding non stop action packed book and it was. It kept me on the edge of my seat as new information was revealed and some things came to an end. This book made me laugh and cry and feel so many things that I couldn’t even have a coherent thought for a few minutes.

I am really enjoying the pacing of this series. I learned a lot in this book and the bonus ending was great to read. I am really excited to pick up the next one due in May because there is just so much left out there that I want to learn about! All in all if you enjoyed books 1-6 then you will definitely love book 7.
