A Scoring Chances Novel

After last season’s heartbreaking loss to his hockey team’s archrival, Jacksonville Sea Storm goalie Riley Hunter is ready to let go of the past and focus on a winning season. His new roommate, Ethan Kennedy, is a loud New Yorker with a passion for social justice that matches his role as the team’s enforcer. The quieter Riley is attracted to Ethan and has no idea what to do about it.

Ethan has no hesitations. As fearless as his position demands, he rushes into things without much thought for the consequences. Though they eventually warm to their passionate new bond, it doesn’t come without complications. For their relationship to work, Ethan will need to learn when to keep the gloves on and let someone help him—and Riley will have to learn it’s okay to let someone past his defenses.

Yes!!!! Another winner by Avon Gale. She is rocking this series, and this was angst free. Her writing was spot on, and such a cohesive story line. I know next to nothing about Hockey, even live in a Hockey city, but I wasn’t as confused as I was in book one. I adored this one a lot. Hockey isn’t my thing, but guys are! Riley was everything. I really liked him as a character, and Ethan Kennedy wasn’t to bad himself. Why did it have to end? I wanted to totally see Ethan in his next stage of life.

I liked that the romance was front runner in this for the guys. I enjoyed Ethan’s determination to accept his bisexuality. He had these notions in his mind, and instead of ignoring them he got down to the bottom of it. Ethan’s strong will determination was definitely appreciated by me. I’m sure when others read this book, they will definitely fall in love with his characters. I enjoyed his family, and that conversation between him and his mom was so lovely. She’s such a strong and loving woman. It’s no wonder how Ethan turned out.

Goodness, Riley. Ugh, I just want him. He was amazing, and a tad kinky. Loved that side of him. I liked his personality. He was so calmed, his thinking is what makes Riley attractive. His passion was in everything he did. His meeting of the Kennedy’s as reserved as he was, I think he yearned for a family like. But I’m kinda glad he didn’t get it, because he wouldn’t be the person he is now. Loved seeing Lane & Jared, and some new faces.

Yowza!!! Two steamy gorgeous, strong, brilliantly hot guys. Lord these guys can definitely heat up a page. I mean from zero guy interest until eff it we are going big or go home. Man, seriously the mouth on these two left me feeling tingly in all the right places. I can’t wait for more of this series. I would like to see more of these two though, even a one-off would be good enough for me. 2nd favorite book of the year! I’m on a winning streak!

About Avon Gale

Avon Gale wrote her first story at the age of seven, about a “Space Hat” hanging on a rack and waiting for that special person to come along and purchase it — even if it was a bit weirder than the other, more normal hats. Like all of Avon’s characters, the space hat did get its happily ever after — though she’s pretty sure it was with a unicorn. She likes to think her vocabulary has improved since then, but the theme of quirky people waiting for their perfect match is still one of her favorites.

Avon grew up in the southern United States, and now lives with her very patient husband in a liberal midwestern college town. When she’s not writing, she’s either doing some kind of craft project that makes a huge mess, reading, watching horror movies, listening to music or yelling at her favorite hockey team to get it together, already. Avon is always up for a road trip, adores Kentucky bourbon, thinks nothing is as stress relieving as a good rock concert and will never say no to candy.

At one point, Avon was the mayor of both Jazzercise and Lollicup on Foursquare. This tells you basically all you need to know about her as a person.
