I was really excited to get this book since I have been struggling to do my hair along with my daughter’s hair. Imagine my surprise, when just about all the pictures featured models with long and really thick hair. While the hair care tips on how to care for your scalp and general hair strands, this book was really intended for those of with long (more than shoulder length) tresses. So for my purposes, it was not useful to me for styling instructions.

The book was generally informative about hair care and I liked looking at the pictures. I  enjoyed the various topics like essential tools and products, finding a good hairdresser/stylist, Dos and Don’ts etc.  I would recommend this book to friends of mixed heritage who need tutorials styling their hair. It would be more apropos to them than people with more wiry hair or tighter coils. For persons with chin length or shorter hair, I would not recommend this particular book.
