What's an Alpha Male to do when he meets the Alpha Female of his dreams?

Step one, hide all sharp objects.

All Zach Sheridan ever wanted was to become Alpha Male of his Pack and be left alone. What he definitely didn't need in his life was some needy female demanding his attention. What he never saw coming was the vicious, scarred female who not only demanded his attention but knew exactly how to get it.

Sara Morrighan knew this was the best she could expect from her life. Good friends. A nice place to live. And a safe job. But when Zach rode into her small Texas town with his motorcycle club, Sara knew she wanted more. She knew she wanted him. But after one sexy encounter with her dream biker, everything is starting to change. Her body. Her strength. That new thing she's doing with the snarling.

Even her best friends are starting to wonder what's going on with her. But this is only the beginning. Sara's about to find out her life was meant for so much more. And Zach's about to find true love with the one woman who makes him absolutely insane.

Warning, this title contains the following: explicit sex, graphic language, and strong violence.

The reader meets the very feisty Sara Morrighan with her girlfriends at a bar, where Zach Sheridan, Beta of the Magnus Pack, has ends up saving her from an attack. Sara has facial and physical scarring from an attack by a Pride that left her parents dead, so Sara has learned to make due with Mr. Right Now rather than hold out hope of some happily ever after.

But there is an attraction between Zach and Sara, and when they become intimate, it begins to reveal things about Sara’s true nature. The more time they spent together, the more Sara became stronger until those who meant her harm decide to finish what they started all those years ago.

This audiobook was entertaining. It was fully of aggressive women and aggressive men (shifters). This story alternated POV between the hero Zach and the heroine Sara so it gave us just a little insight into both. Sara used her snarky mouth to hide her pain and vulnerability. After all her secret pain and the scars was something even her best friends could protect her from. It was in Sara’s unity with Zach that allowed her maturation into who she was supposed to be. Since this story was short, there wasn’t a lot of character development but there was a small introduction for the series to build upon. I plan on continuing with the series.

Polar bear shifter Graham Tundra can’t believe his bad luck. Not only is he traded to another baseball team midseason, but he’s also teamed up with Trigger Mallow: widely considered the best player in the game—but with the worst attitude.

Trigger is on the fence about Graham. As a grizzly bear shifter, he’s relieved to have another ursine on the team, even if they are different species. The problem is Trigger is in the middle of his natural mating season, and Graham looks too damn good to pass up.

What begins as friends with benefits shows potential to grow into a deeper connection. If only they can put aside their differences, learn to trust, listen to their feelings, and realize it’s more than just a bear thing.

four-stars

I am in love with this series. LOVE. I tell you.

When I met Trigger Mallow in Friends with Benefits I knew he was a grumpy bear with on hell of an ass. When I realized he was getting a book I was so excited I did a dance in my chair. You see. I have a thing for redeemable assholes and I was ready for Trigger.

I say I was ready but I really wasn’t. Trigger was so much more than I planned for and when you throw one ice cold Polar Bear to the mix in the form of Graham Tundra (I love the last names btw!) and literally put these two in a room together… *whistles* things get hot.

I love how we get to see the team again and even bits of Wiley and Ram and just be back in the land of this shifter baseball team. Speaking of baseball, let me get this out real quick. This story has more baseball in it than the first book, and while I am not a sporty kinda girl, I dug all the time we got on the field and was even holding my breath at the end waiting for the game to end.

Now all that being said… Trigger, you my dear are so prickly but that fine ass of yours has the softest and gooiest center I never would have imagined. I loved that once you decided Graham was worth your time, even as a friend, you began to settle and let nature take its course.  Though the nature you were going through, aka mating season, was a bit hard to juggle being around someone as gorgeous as your polar bear teammate/pitcher/roommate, you were awesome.

Graham, how could I not love you? Knowing what you went through with your other team to where you are now makes you shine. Knowing how you feel about Trigger before you let him in on those feelings was swoon worthy and seeing you have your catcher’s back no matter what made you own my heart. You not only tamed the beast that is known as Trigger but you came into your own in such a beautiful way.

Bears! Oh my am I love with bears. What really makes me giddy in shifter books is when the boys shift into their animal form and have fun. Graham and Trigger were so freaking cute running around, pulling tails and wrestling that I couldn’t help but have a cheesy grin on my face. I just adored the hell out of it.

But the romance between these ball players was a pure joy to read. I love how they built a friendship and moved on to a physical relationship that you knew early on would be so much more. The emotions between Graham and Trigger just melted me into a big puddle of goo and that end, the whole thing from the sex to the biting (*growl*) to… just everything was so romantic and exactly what I needed.

Loaded for Bear is a fun and sexy story about two men from not only different ursine DNA but from different backgrounds who complement one another on the baseball diamond, in bed and in life. It’s a romance with an Icy bear being the one to melt the grizzly’s resolve and win his heart.

About Cheyenne Meadows

Growing up in the Midwest, I began reading romance novels in high school, immediately falling in love with the genre, to the point where I decided to write professionally for a career. However, that dream splattered against a brick wall, resulting in a quick death in my first writing class in college when my professor told me bluntly that I wasn’t any good at it.

I shifted gears quickly, and left my writing dreams behind, eventually settling on becoming a nurse.

A few years back, I stumbled across a fan-fiction writing site on a favorite author’s webpage. I began to read stories others wrote, not only making some wonderful close friends from the experience, but also, really learning to write for the very first time. Here I was able to share short stories, practice my writing skills, and truly develop into a writer. More than that, the experience allowed me to revitalize my dream, as I rediscovered joy in writing.

Now, I spend my days off with my alpha male characters, quick witted heroines, and see how much trouble everyone can get into. When I’m not working or writing, I enjoy working in the garden, canning, and seeing my backyard as a living canvas for my whimsical landscaping, and, of course, reading romance novels.

Playboy wolf shifter Wiley can’t duck out of his pack’s biggest annual event, despite knowing his grandmother has possible suitors lined up and waiting. Wiley has no intention of settling down, and the situation dangles just above disaster. Thankfully, Wiley’s best friend, lion shifter Ram, agrees to pose as Wiley’s boyfriend for the weekend.

They find out fate has other plans when they kiss on a dare, and the passion erupts, so hot and intense they fear the couch may spontaneously combust beneath them. Neither man is able to push the small act of affection from his mind, but both struggle with uncertainty and the ramifications of following where their libidos lead.

If they can’t outrun their feelings, they’ll have to muster the courage to face their fears before they lose everything, including their friendship.

three-half-stars

Let me tell you a short story. This time last year, I refused to read a shifter book, it was my ultimate hard limit and a huge no go for me. I couldn’t understand the appeal nor get it through my wacked brain how humans turning into animals could lead to any sort of romance or erotic read. That was last year, this year… shifters are my jam. Whether it’s the in-depth shifter universe that requires a glossary and atlas to maneuver the story or a world where we focus more on the couple than the shifterdom, they have become my comfort reads and no one is as shocked about the fact more than me.

So…

I grabbed this book when I requested the second in the series for a review. My OCD doesn’t let me read books out of order and I am so thankful for that because I had the chance to meet Wiley and Ram.

This book was ridiculously fun and I was hooked instantly. The fake boyfriend trope mixed with friends to lovers??? Come on! It’s a match made in this gingers heaven and then you throw snarky shifters and mates into the mix? Yeah, I’m sucked in and never leaving.

Could I take that leap of faith and be lucky enough for everything to work out?

I loved the idea of Wiley begging Ram to come home with him for the “Pack Founders’ Day” with his wolf pack so his grandma wouldn’t try to set him up with numerous wolves so he can find a mate. Wiley is a self-proclaimed play boy and loves his ones offs because they serve a purpose. When Ram agrees to go home with him, he thinks it will be all good; his family will believe him and Ram are boyfriends and get off his back. But when a few nosy kids question their relationship and make them kiss, things get hot and heavy real quick.

Holy UST! This book is full of it and I loved it. It was so much fun to see the boys start to question their friendship and if they wanted more. I loved, loved, LOVED how Ram would argue with his inner lion over, well everything and how Wiley knew when it was happening just by the look on Ram’s face. These two really know one another and want each other and oh boy when they finally give in it was hella hot.

Now, this is not one of those books that you have to remember pack or shifter politics, it’s more a book where you just enjoy yourself and I enjoyed the hell out of myself. It’s about the dynamics between Wiley and Ram as they struggle with taking their friendship to the next level and all the negative and positive that come with moving forward.

I loved Wiley’s family and how they became a family. I was a bit confused on how everyone ages but honestly, that was not important to me because the boys admitting they want one another and dealing with their emotions is what I wanted.

“Spoken like a true lazy lion.”

“King of the jungle, wolf. Remember that.”

The puns in the book were hilarious. I am all about puns and Wiley and Ram, along with the family deliver them fantastically. If you can’t laugh, what’s the point in life right? And if you can’t tease the one you are crushing on, wanting to mount and have them give as good as they get, again… what’s the point?

Friends with Benefits was a sweet and sexy shifter story. It has all the elements that tickle me in the right places. It’s a story about best friends fighting with their emotions and fear when all they want to do it take a bite into the possibility of love and mates.

OH and that book two… Mr. Hot Sculpted Ass gets his own book? This is gonna be good.
